View from the doorway. This is the “before” shot. The boys are spending the week with my folks, so I decided to paint and decorate their rooms while they are gone. (After all, it is on my New Year’s Goal list.) First up, is Woody’s room. Well, it was Woody and Tigger’s room, but now we are switching it back to being just Woody’s room.
Prep work is essential to a good paint job. Be sure to tape off whatever you don’t want painted, and be sure to fill in any nail holes or dents. It is a pain to do, I don’t like doing it, but it saves HOURS off of cleaning time. Really, it does. Every hour spent prepping, saves three hours of clean up time.
It’s also important to clean and move unnecessary items out of the way. Goodness, this makes a mother proud. This is what I found when I moved Woody’s bed. Do you see those dust bunnies? I’m pretty sure they could eat Woody’s toes if they had a mind to! Not to mention, we’ve been looking for a couple of those toys for several months.
These are the finished walls. I finished it in one day! I did the prep work, main painting, and cut-in painting all in one day! I’m so excited.
View from the doorway. Here’s today’s “after” shot. The walls are now blue. The final plan includes an Out of This World theme of rockets, planets, and the moon. I’ve ordered some Wallies with rockets and planets. They should arrive later in the week. I’m also hoping to round up some “outerspace/rocket” themed sheets to help polish the room off.

Tomorrow’s plan is to paint a few constellations on the walls with glow-in-the-dark paint, and paint “God created the heavens and the Earth” type scripture verses on the walls. Then, I’ll start to work on Tigger’s room. It’s certainly going to require more time, as well as, more paint. I need to finish up my sketches for his room, so I have a finalized plan. I also need to see if I can find some scriptures that I could put in his room. Any one have any ideas for Bible verses to go in a Pirate themed room? Arrrggg.

    Maybe a verse about being brave for the pirate room? Not sure.

  2. how about;
