“Oh, the Lord is good to me,
and so I thank the Lord.
For giving me the things I need,
the sun and the rain and the apple seeds.
Oh, the Lord is good to me.”
I am thankful for celebrating the two-year anniversary of our adoption this week.
I am thankful for the great relationship I have with my parents.
I am thankful for my community – I love that when we’re dining at the local Thai restaurant, we bump into folks we know from church, only to find out they live less than 10 houses away from us.
I am thankful for my small group from church. I love that I get to celebrate victories (a daughter that will be baptized this weekend) and pray through the struggles (a mother with another recurrence of cancer) with them.
I am thankful for my neighbors. Our children and husbands play together so well.
I am thankful that it is apple season. The big bunch of Honey Crisp apples I bought today are calling my name.
I am thankful for God watching over us. Last Friday morning, someone broke into Hubby’s truck and took several items – while we were not happy about it, we are thankful that no one was harmed and that our house was not the target for the theives.
I am thankful that Hubby is a year older, but acts 20 years younger.
I am thankful that God gave me the wisdom to help Woody battle his nightmares.
I am thankful that the two most important men in my life, my father and my husband, get along so well.
I am thankful for “Homeschool Days” at the Fort Worth Zoo. I took Woody and Tigger today and had such a great time.
I am thankful for the opportunity to bump into Woody and Tigger’s biological sisters while we were at the zoo. I love those girls so much, I think I could have hugged them all the way back to my house.
I am thankful for the rain in the forecast. We are supposed to go camping next weekend, and as much as I love the IDEA of camping, I don’t so much enjoy actually DOING it… Not to mention, we could use the rain…
To share your gratitude, head over to Iris’s newly designed site Grace Alone.

the boys have biological sisters! wow! that is so special that they can see them!
Your beautiful, thankful heart shines.
I’m thankful for a blog sister like you, sharing her faith in God to the world! Great post, Tanya!
What a beautiful thankful heart you have!
I didn’t realize your boys were adopted. Yay for ya’ll’s anniversary! I’m sure the boys love when they get the opportunity to bump into their sisters as well.
Hope you got your rain! My idea of camping is staying in a motel.
Enjoy your weekend!
What a beautiful thing to stop and really realize the blessings in your life. And oh, how blessed we are!
I’m with D… in the motel – hee!
