Do everything without complaining or arguing. ~ Philippians 2 :14
Yesterday our pastor preached a powerful message based on the verse above at verse. Then he did the unthinkable – he issued 7-day Grumble Challenge. Which means for 7 days we are to refrain from complaining, grumbling, or arguing – mentally or verbally. Wow! He suggested that when we falter, that we say a prayer asking God to help us see the good in the situation and to know that God is present and in control of the situation.
Generally speaking, I’d have to say I’m not a very complain-y person. In fact, I think I’m pretty positive, but I lost count between yesterday and today the number of times I bit my tongue so I wouldn’t complain. Hmm, sounds like yesterday’s message was meant for me!
What about you, are you up for the challenge?
And by the way, Saturday we were in shorts with a high of 84, and today we have ice hanging off of everything (as pictured above.) Don’t you love God’s sense of humor!?!

Good challenge! I’ll have to take part. Things like not grumbling about laundry, and thanking God for my clothes instead…
The ice was near and far–we had it here too! (Except we didn’t have 84 degrees the day before!)
First of all, what a gorgeous picture!
Second of all, I’ll refrain from complaining about God’s sense of humor concerning the weather.
Seriously, I think I’m a pretty positive person as well but those complaints do come out of my mouth. I should work harder on that.
Did you post this just for me? I feel like it! I complain way too much. I realize now it is just a habit. Perhaps I need to work on that. And I second D, gorgeous picture.
I took pictures of the ice hanging off my tree, but they aren’t as good as yours. I blame my camera. =D
Complaining? I NEVER do that! Nope, not me. Never! Well, maybe I do. Seriuosly, I’m usually positive, but I do my share of complaining – not because things really bother me, but because I want to complain. Maybe I should take part in the challenge…
This is something I really need to work on. Really.
