I am so sorry for the delay in a new posting. Days like these, the Veggie Tales song “Busy, Busy” plays in my head like a broken record. I make it to the end of the day, realize I STILL haven’t posted anything, but I find I’m too tired to try and come up with something coherent . Again, so sorry…
Tonight I have my photography class, only 2 more weeks to go until it is finished. I have really enjoyed it. I like the professor, even if he is kinda weird, and I’ve learned so much. I need to go ahead and sign up for the next class. But for now, I’m thrilled that I can mark something off of my Resolutions and Goals list.
Woody turns 7 tomorrow. I can hardly believe he’s been my little boy for 4 years now. I remember his first birthday party (for his 3rd birthday) like it was yesterday. He’s been adding things to his birthday gift-wish list regularly, in hopes of receiving more Star Wars toys than I knew existed. He’s excited about having a big cookie instead of a cake. We figured out a while back that he’s not a big fan of cake – so he was thrilled to learn I could make a giant chocolate chip cookie instead. I’m thrilled because it’s so much easier to decorate.
When one boy has a birthday in our family, the other can’t be too far behind. Tigger will be 5 next Thursday. All I can say is “Who in the heck let my baby grow up?!?!?!” Like his brother, he’s wanting to add a billion things to his wish list. He has requested a dinosaur cake or a dinosaur on a birthday card, either will be okay. Hmm. Me thinks I’ll be baking a cake with dinosaur sprinkles, and I’ll be sure to find the dinosaur card.
We’re having a party! We had a big birthday party for the boys when they were 4 & 2, but all of the others have been at home with family. This year we are doing a “big” party again. We’re going to the local putt-putt place in a couple of weeks. The boys came up with a list of 10 friends to invite, so we should have a good time. I thought it was interesting that both boys listed the neighbor girl as their first desired guest.
I still have a little bit of painting to do in the entry way. The big surfaces are covered, but I still have quite a bit of cut-in work left to do. I am hoping to finish this weekend and then I’ll have another thing to mark off of my Resolutions and Goals list.
I have discovered a way to keep my children entertained for hours. Seriously! Hours! Eons ago, I purchased a roll of brown craft paper. I’ve used it as gift wrap and occasionally, as a drop cloth when I paint the walls. I cut off a 5 ft. piece, put it on the floor in the breakfast room with a bucket of markers and all the stickers that I’ve squirreled away through the years – and I told them to “have at it.” They’ve colored it front and back with all sorts of interesting things. I’m most interested in the drawing of Tigger with a wig on his head. AAAANNNNDDD – the wig holds 1000 babies. Yeah, that’s what I said…

Happy birthday to your boys! It’s amazing how fast the kiddos grow!
Don’t feel bad about singing Veggie Tales songs. I had the phrase “all sunshine and roses” stuck in my head for the longest time before I realized it was from Veggie Tales. I gotta have my Veggies!
