Oh, wait, that would be me… sorry.

I have decided that the word “May” is the equivalent to “you better write this down because you’ll be lucky to sleep this month”.   At least it is on my calendar.   We’ve had field trips, birthday parties, doctor’s appointments, and several volunteer opportunities.   Additionally, I’m doing my first wedding photo shoot at the end of the month so ALL of my free time has been sucked up doing research on wedding photography, lighting, and equipment.

A close friend of mine is a photographer who is doing a wedding this weekend in Fort Worth.   I’ve been blessed to be allowed to tag along and watch the pro at work.   I’m very excited about it because I know it will be an excellent learning opportunity, even if it is somewhat of a “crash course.”

In other exciting news, Tigger is reading.   This kid amazes me because we’re going to start Kindergarten in the next couple of months, so he has really had no formal phonics training.   Most of what he has learned was picked up from Leapfrog toys, like the Fridge Phonics and Word Whammer, along with Leapfrog videos.   So when he took his brother’s Bob books this week and started sounding the letters out, putting the sounds together to make a word, I nearly cried with joy.

Well, I have to run.   I’ve scheduled a scouting trip to the church where the wedding will be held today.   Want to check out the lighting and see what photography obstacles might arise.   I’ll try not to be a stranger around here, but I’ll admit that it’s not looking good for this month.

Hope and pray that you are well!   We’ll talk soon!

    Way to go, Tigger!!!

My 5 year old (starting kindergarten next school year) just started reading this week, too. It is such an exciting time! I am so proud of Tigger – he’ll be awesome once he actually gets real schooling!

Hasn’t May been crazy? I’m so ready for June–I want to do NOTHING for an entire week! I love the Leap Frog Phonics toys– we have the small letter one, and Emma is already starting to sing the alphabet! It’s so fun to watch reading skills develop!
