Well, it’s been all quiet on the bloggy front because every other front has NOT been quiet. :)

I’ve started this post several times, but it just haven’t made it to the “Publish” button until today.

I’ve had a couple of photography projects.

I was the photographer for my cousin’s wedding last month.  It was a great experience, and the wedding was really a neat event.  It was so wonderful to see a couple who followed Biblical principles prior to their marriage.  And their obvious desire to have a cord of three (Bride + Groom + God)  in their marriage warmed my heart.  I pray that they will be blessed beyond measure in their life together. :)

The next weekend I attended a photography workshop at Dunvegan Keep.  That place is incredible!  It isn’t open to the public, or I’d tell you to go – but if you happen to know of anyone getting married there – do your best to get an invite.  It’s an amazing place.

We’ve been visiting family.

We attended a family reunion. I really enjoyed seeing my Grandpa and my great-uncle. Of course it was nice to see everyone else, too.

My mother came up to stay with us a couple of times. I love spending time with her, and the boys LOVE it when Beba comes to visit. Then when she left she took the boys home with her for a week. THAT was great! Hubby and I had fun going out to new places. And, we even watched a television without anyone in the room talking! Can you imagine?!?! :)

The following weekend Hubby and I went to pick up the boys from my parent’s. I think the only thing I love more than going to visit them is when they come to visit us.

I’ve tried out several new recipes.

I got my money out of the latest issue of Cooks Country Magazine.  I made several recipes: the Red Beans & Rice, the Chicken Speidies – YUM!  All of them were great.  I’ll try to share the Red Beans & Rice recipe later this week. It’s a pretty frugal recipe and it uses the crock-pot so it doesn’t heat up the house – which is a nice benefit during these HOT summer days.

I’ve been reading like mad.

I tried to get through my Spring Reading Thing list, but I fell woefully short of the goal.  At least I’ve finished 11 of the 18 books.  Certainly more than I read this time last year…  I hope to have another review or two to share later this month.

We’ve had doctor’s appointments.

Tigger went to the eye doctor. And the big news there is that I FINALLY know why Tigger turns his head to look out of the right side of his eyes when he is pointing at something. Turns out he has a very slight astigmatism in his left eye on the lower half close to his nose. So – when he turns his head – his nose blocks the line of vision from that spot. Like I said, it’s very slight so corrective lenses are not needed. I’ve been asking doctors about this over the past two years and it is so great to finally have an answer. :) Also, nice to know that it isn’t anything to worry about.

I finally had that check-up I’ve been putting off for over a year. In return for my trouble – I also got have a mammogram – yippee, and I got to have an ultrasound to check out some issues I’ve been having in the nether-regions… Another yippee…

As it turns out, I have a cyst on my left ovary. The doctors believe that it will dissipate on it’s own. I’ll go back in a couple of months to have another ultrasound to see if the cyst is smaller or if it has grown. I’ve done my research and I know that most cysts are benign, especially those that occur during the reproductive years. And that, 90 percent of simple cysts are functional and will disappear after a few weeks. However, most women who have cysts don’t even have symptoms. I’ve had quite a few symptoms. In fact, I have nearly every symptom given for ovarian cysts, plus a few others. So I’m stressing out a wee bit over the possibility of being in the other 10 percent. Logical? Probably not. But, I stress never-the-less…

I’ve been painting again.

I am trying really hard to finish Tigger’s pirate-themed room this summer. I’ve added Buzzard Beach, two Rock Runs, another volcano, another Root Beer Island, and the compass rose. I’m almost finished with the second Monkey Business Island. I also want to add more whales and the verses from Matthew “Store your treasures in heaven…for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel – which is great!

And lastly, school has resumed.

We resumed our homeschooling schedule this week. Only now I have two students, because Tigger is “officially” in Kindergarten. He’s such a good student – eager to do his work, eager to learn. I’m hoping some of his attitude will rub off on his brother who…well, isn’t so eager. We are having fun though. We’ve added in some computer learning time. Both boys are so excited about doing it they can hardly wait for the other one to finish so they can have “their turn.”

In fact, their computer time is almost over, so I’ve got to run.

Hope you are having a great summer!
