Let me introduce myself, I’m Tanya, aka TexasTanya.  I was born and raised in Texas.  I’ve spent most of my life in the Lone Star State, minus the small aberrations of a year in Philly, and three years in the Seattle area.

I was one of those people who said they would never blog.  I didn’t really see the point, I mean who cares about the minute details of so-and-so’s life.  I became a convert in May 2007, in an effort to ward off “Mommy-brain”.   I found spending all day, every day with pre-schoolers was rapidly depleting my brain cells.  So, I challenged myself to write something, anything, just as long as I attempted to use coherent thoughts, proper grammar, no baby-talk, and try to keep it positive, because nobody likes a whiner.  Since then, I’ve found I enjoy, and actually have come to rely on, the release that writing allows.  (Huh, maybe that’s why everyone says journaling is good for you… )

I’ll be the first to admit that my blog is sort of like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates, “you never know what you’re gonna get.” But, most of my writing centers around my God, and the three guys who rule my days and nights – Hubby-dear, Woody (7), and Tigger (5). The boys keep me busy, especially when school is in session, as I add the role of teacher to my everyday life. I’ll be sure to share some of our field trips, and other activities that I think you might enjoy. Also, my newest hobby has me with a camera in hand most of the time, so there are sure to be lots of pictures.

Marital Status: Happily married to Hubby-dear for over 6 years.
Kids: Forever Children: Woody and Tigger adopted September 2006.
Foster Children: 16 boys and girls who stayed anywhere from 2 days to 9 months.
Homeschooling: This is our 3rd official year, but we have been pretty laid back. I’m of the opinion that, especially in the younger years, children need time to play, explore, & discover – rather than sit at a desk and fill out papers.
Faith: Christian
Home: Just outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Pets: Murray (8) the Bouncy Biener (Beagle/Weiner mix), & Macie (2) aka. Spacey Macie (a Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix).
